About Lakeland Officials Association

Since 1959, the Lakeland Officials Association (LOA) has been dedicated to improving the quality of sports officiating across Southeast Wisconsin. Our members serve in football, basketball, baseball, softball, and more—working at youth, high school, college, and adult levels.

We provide training, mentorship, and community programs to help officials grow their skills, maintain consistency in rule interpretation, and uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship.

Through our scholarship program, LOA has proudly awarded over $170,000 to Waukesha County student-athletes pursuing higher education.

Why LOA’s Work is Essential

The demand for licensed sports officials in Wisconsin has declined sharply—from approximately 10,000 before the pandemic to about 6,500 today—creating strain on game schedules at every level.

LOA is tackling this head-on by hosting clinics and recruitment efforts, aiming to train, equip, and retain the next generation of officials.
